I think poor Hubby thought I was going to lose it after being stuck home with three sick kids for a full week. (Hubby's note- True.) So he did not mind at all when I asked if I could not only make a much needed run to the stores this weekend but also stop at a local antique shop that was having an event this weekend. The poor man might have asked if I was ever coming back as I walked to my car and I might have said "no promises". What can I say, it was a very long week!
If you live in the greater DC area you must try to make it to the Old Lucketts Store and you really have to make the time to stop by if it is a Design House Weekend. I could not even begin to guess how many vendors they had this weekend but it was just like a candy shop to me! There were tents with all sort of finds like the gas station china pictured above to the Design House which was like walking through rooms straight off of Pinterest. Pretty things to see everywhere and they had something for everyone's different tastes.
As I was leaving the Design House all I could think was that I need a cell number for Balki Bartokomous! If you have ever seen the "Bronson Pinchot Project" on the DIY network the you totally know what I mean. That over-sized bust would be perfect for his ever-evolving house, right!?!
And the best part of my "jail break" was that I found this chair! Yes it needs a little TLC but for $39 it was just what I was looking for. Promise to let you know how I fancy this gal up....
What a steal! Can't wait to see what you do to it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the chair - and for that price...amazing! See, now you can have a favorite chair! Thanks for coming over to see mine!

I so feel your pain. 2 different days last week I saw the school phone number pop up...and sure enough, I had to pick up both of my boys, just a day apart. Hubby was skiing all weekend in Aspen, while I ushered to lacrosse, birthday parties, etc...I am in need of a "jail break" myself. Instead, we're all headed to Disney next week. I think I'm going to need a real vacation soon! :)

I am going to have to check that place out. Love your chair! I'm on the hunt for a second set of dishes and my gma explained I must buy at antique or consignment shop so if you know of any more great places you must share.
ReplyDeleteI so wish I lived close enough to check Old Lucketts Store out in person.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you must have had and what a find too! Hope the kiddos are all well now and you have time to admire and imagine all the possibilities for your chair. Can't wait to see the transformation.

What an amazing candy store indeed! I think my heart would skip a beat finding a place like that! Great find too - I can totally see the potential!
ReplyDeleteThe giant head is definitely for Bronson's house! Love that chair. Glad you made a break for it and scored!
ReplyDeleteI went to Luckett's Store when I visited my friend Anna two weekends ago! It was wonderful!! I wish it was closer to me so I could go frequently!
ReplyDeleteYes...Bronson would love that piece!! He'd probably do a segment of a roadtrip to come get it too on his show. lol
ReplyDeleteI scored a chair marked..ugly chair for $20. It is similar to yours but yours is twice as nice quality.
Love the chair - can't wait to see what you do with it!!!

Ha ha... yes it does belong on Bronson's show, if fact it sort of, at a glance looks like his assistant, (I can't remember his name) but can't you see it? Little Bit
ReplyDeleteLove your little chair! I have been feeling the Luckett's itch lately! I am SO looking forward to shopping in the warm sun again soon! Maybe we will bump into each other at the Spring Market! =o) ~ Lisa
