All across America you can go into an ice cream shop and order a "milkshake" with the expectation your server will blend milk and ice cream in any favor of your choosing. But that is not the case on the Cape! If you order a milkshake at Sundae School you would get a cup of favored milk. On the other hand if you order a frappe, you would be in heaven as you enjoyed a blended mixture of ice cream, milk and syrup. So the next time you are on the Cape and you are in the mood for a milkshake trust me and order a frappe. You can thank me later!
And if you are even in Rhode Island and feel like you need a milkshake give me a call! You are never going to guess what they call a milkshake....
Sounds good :-) And you call me if you're ever in Atlanta!
ReplyDeleteIs that where Starbucks got the frappe thing??
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... never knew that. Have a great weekend! Hope it's full of ice cream.
ReplyDeleteOkay...inquiring minds want to know! What do I order when I visit my son in Providence?? Although rather than a milkshake, it is usually a martini...:) But I want to let him know how to speak Rhode Island-er!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your vacation at the Cape!!
A cabinet!!!! :) But if you are at Newport Creamery, it's an Awful Awful!
ReplyDeleteI'll teach you all the Rhode-Islandese you want to know! :)
ReplyDeleteNow, now, if you live on the R.I./Mass. border, you really have to keep track of your frappes versus cabinets. I do find, though (and I am getting up there in age) that the use of the term "cabinet " is disappearing. Now, if I'm lucky enough to be at Sundae School, I am having a hot fudge sundae, thank you very much!
